ABS stands for antilock braking system, and if the ABS warning light is illuminated in your car's gauge cluster, that means the antilock system has been deactivated because of a malfunction. Your car's regular brakes should work fine, but the antilock feature that prevents wheels from locking up during braking will not work. In addition, if your vehicle has stability control and traction control, those will be disabled as well because those systems rely on the same wheel-speed sensors as the antilock system.
A dirty or clogged engine air filter is more likely to reduce acceleration than fuel economy, according to tests conducted by the EPA. Because filters get dirty gradually over time, you might not notice a small but steady loss of performance until your car is accelerating like a turtle. But if you haven’t changed the filter in a couple of years (or sooner in areas that have a lot of soot in the air), that could be part of the problem.
Starter: starting the car was a sweat-breaking business before the starter. A procedure by it's own, where you had to be fairly skilled. Cranking the car was done with a cranking rod. The driver would put it into place, use all the strength available, crank the engine and if he's lucky the engine would start after a few turns. If not, he was in for another lesson in body-building. Aside that, when the engine started the driver had to let loose of the rod in time or else he would get a knock in the face. Every time you put the key into the ignition, remember this and enjoy it as a privilege.
Analog electric motor checker - This highly portable vehicle diagnostic tool is necessary in the repair and maintenance of three-phase machines. A technician will also use this auto diagnostic tool prior to installation to make sure that circuitry is completely sound. Some of the faults that it helps in detecting include: Open circuits, Loose connections, Faulty installations, Rotor flaws, Short circuits. All the above mean that electricity is either flowing inefficiently in the system or not at all. If not detected early on and fixed, the entire machine will deteriorate at a faster rate meaning that more expensive repairs and replacements will be needed.
