A DC generator who wasn't that bad, but had a lot of glitches, the regulator system was complicated, it was large and in some cars highly unreliable. Then came the alternator. It was brilliantly constructed, highly dependable, half the size of the dynamo and very easy to repair. The output that it gave was much more stable and consistent thus allowing more appliances to be put in the car.
The car battery itself may be the cause if it has corroded cable terminals, bad wiring, damaged cells or plates inside or if it is leaking electrolyte. This article refers primarily to conventional vehicles with conventional 12-volt batteries; more electrified vehicles and those higher-voltage electrical systems will vary. The charging system warning light should show for a few seconds when you start the car, but if the battery light shows while you're driving the vehicle, that light signals a problem. Among other signs that the alternator or other parts of the charging system aren't working are dim headlights or the clock losing time.
Your Cars Battery. Car's battery is a storage piece of equipment and is employed to start the engine. The battery helps activate and control the electrical accessories set up and installed on your car. The battery is composed of six cells of heaped positive and negative lead plates, divided by insulators and wrapped up in electrolyte, which is a mixture of sulfuric acid and water. The six cells generate 2.1 volts producing an entirety of 12.6 volts. This kind of energy is stored energy and not produced energy.
